Travelling has become one of the most popular things people like to do. We love going to different places either for work, leisure, or experience. We set our schedules to book flights, plan itineraries and prepare everything to make our travel experiences perfect.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made this activity impossible to enjoy. Most flights were cancelled and the places to visit became limited. People were asked to stay at home to prevent the further spread of the virus. It became more difficult to even just go outside especially if you do not have any valid reason to do so.
But if there’s a need for you to travel, it would not hurt to know how to travel safely. There are precautionary measures you must keep in mind and certain guidelines you have to follow. Read the steps below to guide you on how to travel safe:
(1) Get yourself tested
You have to make sure that you are 100% negative of the virus. If you are experiencing symptoms, you will not be able to get any documentation saying that you are safe to travel. Testing yourself first will help you ensure not only your own safety but the safety of others as well. If you do not get yourself tested, you might be a carrier of the virus and infect other people while travelling.
Get yourself checked and wait for the test results in order to get all the necessary certification that you are COVID-19-free and is safe to interact with others.
(2) Provide an updated medical history
It takes time to get the symptoms of Covid-19. Some people do not even experience them at all but turn out to be positive. Your medical history will help you prove that you did not have any symptoms or illness for at least the past two weeks. Provide an updated record of your medical history to process all your travel requirements without any problem.
(3) Provide your travel history
One of the main reasons why this virus has spread all over the world is because of traveling. People have gone from one place to another and so making interactions with different people. This has caused unknownCovid-19 carriers to come in contact with others, thus increasing the number of positive cases.
Your travel history will show where you have been for the past 14 days to ensure that you have not been to places with positive cases and you are not a risk to others.
(4) Protect yourself.
Traveling means having to touch doorknobs, ATMs, elevators, etc. Remember to bring with you travel essentials like alcohol, hand sanitizers, and face masks. Never cough or sneeze into the air, make use of your face mask or a handkerchief to cover your mouth and nose.
You can use hand gloves to prevent touching surfaces directly but avoid touching your face and your things with it. You can disinfect the seats or surfaces with alcohol before coming into contact with them. These will protect you and make sure you travel safe.
(5) Follow the guidelines
Remember to follow the guidelines issued to guarantee the safety of everyone. Practice social distancing and avoid touching other people. Wash your hands properly and sanitize them every after contact with other things. Avoid going to crowded places and talking to people if not necessary.
It would not hurt to be more careful with your surroundings to protect yourself from possible carriers of the virus. Travel safe and COVID-19-free!
